"Les mélodies d’Alex Rossi me donnent l’impression d’une orgie non censurée avec plusieurs langues autour du sexe. De ces fêtes nocturnes qui se terminent par des réveils difficiles et cette incapacité cruelle de savoir qui est le père de l’enfant qu’on vient d’inventer à plusieurs. Malgré l’aversion que me procure le rock hexagonal, la pop de Rossi s’écoute sans complexe, sans le malaise qui tend à saisir l’auditeur lorsqu’un frenchie chante dans la langue d’Edouard Balladur. Et dieu me tripote, ils sont rares les musiciens de ce calibre ; Daho, Arnold Turboust, Alain Chamfort, autant d’âmes ayant léché les côtes de la mélodie populaire sans se noyer dans la variété. Autant de papas possibles pour Rossi, également parolier et compositeur pour d’autres. Oui, les enfants font aussi des enfants. Dans un contexte où tout le monde veut rocker comme ses ancêtres paternels, le VIENS PAR ICI de Rossi rassure sur la capacité du monde à écouter autre chose que du riff surgelé. «Me cherchez pas dans la tendance» crie Rossi le crooner. Forcément, un auteur-compositeur évoquant tout autant la pop italienne de Luccio Battisti que le manu manu manureva… C’est un avion fantôme qui échappe aux radars journalistiques. Même Eudeline, pas le premier des pop’addict à la française, se fend d’une ligne sur la musique de Rossi : « Ah j’aime bien ! Des qu’il y a une vraie chanson, moi je suis content…on me parle toujours de rock mais au fond il y a plein de gens qui “font du rock”, je comprend pas de quoi ils parlent. L’important, c’est les chansons non? ». Je ne vois rien d’autre à ajouter. Tout est –toujours- question de paternité. Et de descendance." Bester LANGS pour GONZAÏ MAGAZINE ...... You will encounter too, listening to Alex blue demos, what we used to feel, in the past, listening to the young Murat: this cross-over between French variété - at least the one that is still played - and rock... Is is totally our fault if, listening to "Viens par ici", the perfect track, we remember this other perfect liberating hit from Chagrin d'amour, "Chacun fait ce qu'il lui plaît"... Thus, without any of these terrible plays on words that have rotted the French song scene for years, let’s say that Alex Rossi has been around. This highly skilled lyricist (Dick Rivers, Frédéric Lo...) has real stories to tell us singing. Who else could offer better nowadays than this totally queer "Il s'appelait Annabelle, elle s'appelait Henri" (He was called Annabelle, she was called Henri)? Moreover, which man in for it in all senses, wouldn’t recognize himself in the lyrics of "Garçon que j'étais" (The boy I used to be)? And which girl wouldn’t find, listening carefully to the lyrics, the beginning of an answer to the man she loves enigma ? Last comment before letting you listen to this pure modern anachronism : Alex Rossi songs are the ones you feel like playing at your mate’s wedding. Bizarre, isn’t it ?"
