Magos do Sol were a band that used to play at balls in Patos de Minas, MG, Brazil in the seventies. Magos do Sol were also one of the first Brazilian bands to cover The Beatles music. They used to call themselves Trapps when played their own music, so here is the music ofTrapps during their mad rehearsals. What you hear on the player is mainly improvisations recorded directly on cassette tapes with no overdubs and remastered later by Luiz Esteves.

Vamos contar um pouco dessa história: Eu cresci vendo e ouvindo essa turma tocar, criar, produzir e curtir música.Todos os dias uma nova viagem no infinito das notas era iniciada e a criatividade fluia sempre. Foram vários Magos que iniciaram a tocar lá em casa nos ensaios da banda que era diário.
Em shows ou festivais Patos de Minas respirava música nesta época e o MAGOS DO SOL para mim era a melhor banda e os caras tocavam de tudo e muito bem.
CARAS, OBRIGADO POR FAZEREM PARTE DA MINHA VIDA E ME DAR TANTAS LEMBRANÇAS BOAS!

Me lembro com prazer e com saudade de quando fundamos o “Magos do Sol” em 1974-Patos de Minas. Eu(Sânzio) na minha guitarra “Snake”, Gilberto Pavão e Taquinho Noronha (vocais-shure e violões Di Giorgio de 12 cordas), Heleno Versiani (bateria Ludwig igualzinha à do Ringo Starr) e Ivan Corrêa (baixo Giannini). Tempos de dificuldades e de aprendizado. Só que o coração transbordava quando plugávamos os instrumentos naqueles amplificadores “Snake” valvulados de 200 watts (que eram muito usados para demolição de edifícios e atentados terroristas à época). Nos bailes e shows nos atrevíamos a algumas coisas do Queen, Stones, Beatles, Uriah Heep, Santana, Focus, Slade, Elton John e até Novos Baianos. Um breve tempo de sonhos que valeu à pena!
Magos do Sol, my dearest:
I was far-out looking over the photos which doubtlessly portray Magos do Sol
and all our glamor back in the 70's. Oh yes, those were the times, we were still at the prime of our youth, with rock and roll boiling in our veins, Bota was still alive and we were happier, much happier then. I can still remember Pavão taking us all for a ride in his old "suruana", all was fun, music, friends and adventures of all sorts. Those photos are terrific and they did make me shed a tear... it was like tripping back to that time and see the movie once again. Congratulations brother Luiz Esteves, for all the photos displayed. I'd also like to contribute with some old photos, true relics of the past, for the betterment of Magos do Sol site.
