ENGLISH VERSION:

The self-titled "Malvina" band (a home-made bomb out of very simple materials but, very destructive) had its beginning in 2003, in the city of Nova Friburgo, located around the mountain ranges in the state of Rio de Janeiro - Brazil.

Its components, musically incipient teenagers who were still in school by that time, united themselves for one purpose in common: PUNK ROCK. As time passed by, band members were changed, exchanged and also replaced. The different formations Malvina had, set important events in its background and story.

Musically mature, the band started mixing punk rock music and hardcore, with a sip of progressive elements. Its unique songs and lyrics gathered loyal fans everywhere they played. The band also scored the first place in the "top 100" at the now extinct democlub.com for quite some time and, was awarded a large number of trophies and "Best of...", like in the huge Nova Friburgo festival in 2006.

They have played all around the state of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and São Paulo, disseminating songs from their 3 EPs, and a virtual single. In 2010, their first ever album, will hit you in the face with the brazilian musical scene and the suppression of real art; Instead of the emptiness and banalization of the everyday common. The debut bilingual album, "Claustro" features songs in brazilian portuguese and English, mentioning clautrophobia itself, as reaction to marketing and its thesis, closing in on everything.

The essence of the human being is also a subject carried out in a frenetic rhythm and striking melodies full of energy. After these 7 years on the road, Malvina registers this very important first album; Breathing deep and looking ahead as this first step taken in the spineless way of the underground takes their art in the ways of music, a way express what feeds the band itself... an energy that will never run out to go on.

From Aldous Huxley's words can the importance music is in the lives of human beings be extracted. A planet where people's inner musical feelings are dominated by pre-made formulas of insipid songs and lyrics makes us all bethink about what's left of our essence in the fields of sensibility, critical sense and complexity.

O Malvina surgiu em meados de 2003, na cidade de Nova Friburgo, interior do Rio de Janeiro, formada originalmente por quarto adolescentes musicalmente incipientes, que ainda cursavam o ensino fundamental quando resolveram se unir pelo punk rock. Ao longo desses anos, houve alterações na formação, que sem dúvida, marcaram muito a história da banda.

O progresso significativo no quesito musicalidade deve-se ao amadurecimento natural das composições e ao empenho na experimentação da mescla do punk e do hardcore com elementos do progressivo. A sonoridade resultante começou a despertar interesses e logo se consolidou um público fiel da banda, além de ter proporcionado conquistas como a marca de primeiro lugar por alguns dias no Top 30 das bandas mais acessadas no famoso, porém já extinto, site de divulgação, o Democlub, além de premiações em festivais como no festival Municipal de Nova Friburgo em 2006. Nesse percurso, a banda leva na bagagem 3 EP’s, 1 single virtual, diversos shows pelo estado do Rio, passagens por Minas Gerais e São Paulo.

2010 é o ano de lançamento do primeiro álbum, o "Claustro". Dividido entre o inglês e o português, as composições tem em sua maioria como alvo principal a cena musical brasileira e a supressão da arte verdadeira pelo vazio e o banal. O próprio título do disco é uma clara menção bilíngüe a claustrofobia, reação desencadeada por essa supressão mercadológica. Também são abordadas questões da essência do ser humano, tudo, meio ao ritmo frenético, melodias marcantes e enérgicas.

Após 7 anos, o Malvina registra seu primeiro álbum, respira e olha pra frente como sendo este, o primeiro passo dado na longa caminhada pelas trilhas espinhosas do underground. A arte verdadeira, como forma de expressão é o que alimenta a banda e energia não faltará para prosseguir.

Pode-se extrair das palavras de Aldous Huxley, a síntese do sentido da importância da música na vida do ser humano.

Um mundo onde os ouvidos alheios são dominados por músicas insípidas e pré-formuladas nos faz refletir sobre o que resta da essência do ser humano nos campos da sensibilidade, senso crítico e complexidade. Em suma, somam-se os "somas" que assumem esse "samba".
