Composer, guitarist, artist-plastic, began his musical career in the college circuit in Belo Horizonte. Samba to Frevo, Maracatu of the zuela yard of a genuinely Brazilian language. Mestre Jonas searches the popular culture of Brazil, which is reflected in his work by combining elements of daily life and the Brazilian cultural imaginary. The musical influence is by Dorival Caymmi, Joao Bosco, Edu Lobo, Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, Baden Powell, Villa Lobos. Mestre Jonas, today is one of the pillars and major authors of the current Brazilian and mineira music scene, which accounts for hundreds of compositions performed by various artists and bands. Early on, Jonas live with the manifestations of popular culture. Son of mother-of-saint was raised seeing and hearing the Folias de Reis, Congadas and the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Rhodes and pagodas of Capoeiras, suddenly and challenge the heyday of the carnival in Belo Horizonte where he was a follower Sorority Recreativo Escola de Samba Canto da Alvorada. Currently working in parallel on projects with artists from other states making the connection to the samba and mineiro projects in Rio Samba Composer "with composers Miguel dos Anjos e Dudu Nicácio and "Samba da Madrugada". Mestre Jonas has played together with famous names in MPB as Chico César, Moacyr Luz, Nei Lopes, Herminio Bello de Carvalho, Dona Ivone Lara, Tia Surica Portela, Noca da Portela, Riachão, Monarco, Juarez Moreira, Tulio Mourão, Cleber Alves, Titane, Angela Evans among others. In his discography set his first CD entitled "Mestre Jonas - Sambero" by MAIS BRASIL. With original and unpublished compositions and in partnership with the new names of Brazilian music. In this record, Master Jonas shows his clearly african-brazilian, African-mineira references, with themes that go through the Maracatu, Zuela and Afro-sambas.
