Gloria

The band was formed in 2002 in São Paulo, Brazil. The band recorded 2 indie cds in 2005 and 2006, Gloria´s debut album, O fim é uma certeza was recorded in 2005 and released on the first label, Dalaranjaaocaos and the 2nd one Nueva was released in 2006 with another record label, Urubuz Records .
The band started to recieve recognition in 2006 performing all over the country. Since 2006 Gloria was considered the biggest underground band in Brazil headlining concerts in many cities like Curitiba, Londrina, Balneário Camboriú, Jaraguá do Sul, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Aracajú, Salvador,Recife, Minas Gerais, Campo Grande, Juiz de Fora, Brasília. In the same year the band won the Zonapunk awards as the best underground band of the year. Zonapunk is one of the most important music website in latin america. 2007 another award, Prêmio Toddy, this time in Best new artist category. In 2008 the band won 2 Zonapunk awards, Best show and best orkut community.
Over 1 milion downloads with 7 songs at the same time in top 10 Tramavirtual website for more than 1 year, with a 1st page interview named " Underground Phenom" in the same website, Gloria starts to collecting records like 30,000 people online watching a live performance at Showlivre studios .
November 2007 the band recorded a tv show call, 12 horas (12 hours), the band have 12 hours to record 1 track and after that these track can be downloaded by anyone. The 12 hours season have many artists and Gloria´s episode was number one in views, breaking records again.
February 2008 Gloria appears in Nickelodeon tv show call, Nickers and the audience requests broke another record, with more than 1,000 emails. Still in 2008 Gloria signed with a major record label, Universal Music and with one of the most important cd producers in Brazil , Rick Bonadio .
GLORIA, the band´s third album and major label debut was released in April 19, 2009 and debuted at #14 place in Brazil. the first single, Minha Paz, was released 1 week after and debuted also in #14 place in Hot100Brasil list. with the same song the band got 1st place in many radio stations like Atlântida radio from Porto alegre, Campinas Difusora fm and 98fm from Presidente prudente. 5 weeks after released their major label cd Gloria started to recieve many tv and radio requests making apperances in Pânico from Joven pan radio station and Chupim from Metropolitana radio, the 2 most important radio programs in Brazil.
The first 2009 Headline tour start with a huge concert in São Paulo, 50.000 people came and made Gloria´s biggest show and the perfect way to start a tour.
September 2009 the band was nominated in 4 awards, Multishow award , Video Music Brasil (Brazilian Mtv VMA) , Capricho awards and Nickelodeon awards all in Best new artists category. November 2009 Gloria´s 2nd single, Agora é minha vez was released and the band was ready to start 2010 with full force playing in Planeta atlantida festival, the biggest anual festival in Brazil (90,000 people) and broadcasted live in Multishow tv channel.
2010 shows are all great so far, sold out shows in places that Gloria never been, play for the 1st time in a huge country like Brazil are great for the band. June 2010 the 3rd single, Tudo outra vez was released and debut in 6th place in Mtv´s top ten, in the same month Gloria made a Rock/metal version for Lady gaga´s Bad Romance and reach number 5th in mtv´s top ten with a live videoclip from the Mtv program Acesso Mtv.
September 2010 Gloria was nominated again in Mtv´s Video music swards Brasil, this time in Best rock artist category.
11th October 2010 Gloria played in SWU Music and arts festival with Linkin Park, Incubus, Avenged sevenfold, Queens of the stone age, Rage against the machine, Mars volta and many other bands, and the only Brazilian band in main stage was Gloria.
