Formed in March 1993 in Rio do Sul/SC, the Thrash Metal band RHESTUS was born from a joke between friends, and stabilizes after 17 years as one of the greatest Heavy Metal bands of Santa Catarina and the country. Its influences are varied into music, whose main characteristic is the Thrash and Heavy Metal played in 1980 years.

The discography includes two demo tapes, 'Had a World (1996)', 'Heroes of the Doomsday'(1999), participation in four collections: 'Rock Soldiers Vol 4' (2000), 'The Winds of a New Millennium Vol.3'(2000), 'Atlantdas Vol.9' (Lithuania - 2001), 'Tribute to Anthrax: Indians Not' (2005), an EP 'Rest Of Old, New and Rare Of 15 Years' (2007) and two albums 'Embryo Of The Endless Sands' (2003) and 'Games of Joy... Games of War'(2010).

In 2001 the band changes residence to Timbó/SC, until mid-2008. In November 2003 the band released its debut album entitled 'Embryo of the Endless Sands', containing 11 tracks and participation of the German artist and illustrator Michael Schindler. In 2005 the band participates in a Brazilian tribute to Anthrax, entitled 'Indians Not', approved by the American band, and the band's version as one of the best recognized by the specialized media and audience.

In 2007 the band begins pre-production of the new album, which extends until the second half of 2009. During this period, in August 2008 released the EP 'Rest of Old, New and Rare of 15 Years', celebrating 15 years of existence.

At the end of that year and early 2010 the band suffered a major change in its lineup, being forced to re-organize and plan actions, as a new residential area changing Timbo for Indaial/SC, weekly rehearsals that were previously fortnightly, and manufacture of new merchandise. After this troubled period, Rhestus performs its own event, called 'I Metal War', featuring the new lineup. At the same time participate in some regional events, reinforcing the new formation.

'Games Of Joy... Games Of War' comes to light in 2010, calling attention to the quality material and maturity of the band not only by the fans but also from specialized media, national and international. With the band stabilized and a new album in the market, the band starts a reformulation of merchandising, website, myspace, and several concerts in Brazil.

The year 2011 don’t let the band rest, shooting a video clip of the title track 'Games of Joy ... Games of War' and already in pre-production of the new album.
