Robert Trill, alias Robert Nijs, born in 1980, gravitates toward the music of artists like Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren. In the summer of 2001, inspired by the trails blazed by such pioneers, he broke free from the chilling framework of concert pianist, to become one of the most innovative Dj's on the scene. His repertoire is a blend of music styles that includes House, Breakbeat and Trance. The next step in his development will be the establishment of his own label in Holland. This is an unprecendented endeavor for an artist. The top movers in the industry have already begun to sit up and take notice. Where does Robert derive the confidence to successfully branch out so dynamically in these previously unexplored directions?
You can be assured that he is in control, because his mother was a drummer and his father was a professional musician. The story lies in between. The feeling for music and the rhythm came from his mother while his father introduced him to theory and the realities of the music world. This developmental atmosphere, cultivated an intense passion that led to nine years of classical piano instruction. This provided an excellent base for his current musical direction, a 'revelation' that he received during his first Love Parade in Berlin.
That's when it all began to happen. His studio received the necessary 'vinyl' makeover and a close friend baptized him into the elements of mixing. With astonishing speed, he has already appeared in numerous Dutch clubs. His association with key players in the Berlin event scene, led to his turning point gig at Berlin's trendy “Tresor” club.

Robert Trill, alias Robert Nijs, Baujahr 1980, steht nicht nur mit seinem urigen Körper zur Musik von Paul van Dyk and Armin van Buuren. Inspiriert, startet er seit Sommer 2001 als Dj durch. Dabei bedient er sich zur Erweiterung seines Repertoires Musikstilen wie House, Breakbeat und Trance. Ein weiterer Schritt seiner Entwicklung soll die Gründung eines eigenen Labels in Holland sein. Ein anspruchsvolles Ziel ist dies nach relativ so kurzer Zeit der Erfahrung in der Szene auf jeden Fall. Auch Kenner wird dieses Vorhaben aufhorchen lassen. Woher nimmt Robert Nijs das Vertrauen, seinen Weg dynamisch und erfolgreich gehen zu können?
Man kann davon ausgehen, es sei ihm in die Wiege gelegt worden, weil die Mutter in der Schulband als Schlagzeugerin den Rhythmus mitbestimmte und der Vater es gar zum Berufsmusiker brachte. Die Wahrheit liegt wie meist sicherlich in der Mitte. Das Gefühl für die Musik, den Rhythmus hat er wohl von der Mutter mitgegeben bekommen. Durch den Vater wurde er an die Musik herangeführt. Alles Weitere erarbeitete er sich bei einer 9-jährigen abgeschlossenen Klavierausbildung. Dies dient ihm heute als gute Grundlage seiner Neuausrichtung in der Musik, die er für sich nach dem Besuch seiner ersten Loveparade in Berlin beschloss.
Nun ging alles recht zügig. Es wurden Platten, Plattenspieler gekauft, ein Freund lernte ihm die Anfänge des Mixens. Plötzlich legte er bereits in holländischen Clubs auf. In seiner Heimatstadt in Deutschland nahe Berlin knüpfte er Kontakte mit Veranstaltern, legte bei mehreren Events, u.a. auch im der Szene bekannten House "Tresor" in Berlin, mit auf.
