    Release Some say that good ideas are born out of laziness or lack of what to do. However, the compliment of leisure can be discussed. It was in this uncompromising mood that in 2006 Jaj� Cardoso (guitar and vocal) and his friend Luca Bori (bass) got together at home to make a sound in the Historic Center of Salvador. .. .. After playing hardcore with their high school band Trick Attack, Jaj� and Luca were searching for a new sound. The boys jumped into classic references of rock..n ..roll like The Beatles Rolling Stones while opening their minds for bands with a contemporary sound like The Strokes, Bloc Party, Max�mo Park and Arctic Monkeys. They searched the internet to find a drummer and found Mamede. Luca..s brother, Davide Bori (guitar), completed the sound of the band, which was already dubbed Vivendo do �cio, a name inspired by their lazy afternoons. The entertainment was followed by an intense period of hard work with compositions, rehearsals, recording and the release of a virtual album on the internet. Like Radiohead (who allowed the download of "In Rainbows" for free), Vivendo do �cio released the "Teorias de Amor Moderno" for anyone to download. The fame of the band spread like wildfire from Bahia to other states. “We grew up together and the sound got matured” says Luca Bori. “We are childhood friends, I have known Jaj� since I was 10 years old.”.. .. .. GAS SOUND GUARAN� ANTARCTICA..S PRIZE.. .. A new stage of learning came with the inclusion of the band in the music reality show GAS Sound presented by Brazillian musician, Tony Garrido and created by Guaran� Antarctica partnership with the agencies B/Ferraz and DM9DDB broadcast by Rede TV! on Sundays. After Dieguito Reis replaced Mamede as drummer, Vivendo do �cio showed a consistent and respected sound for all rounds in the competition, leading to first place with great reviews from the judges Supla, George Israel from Kid Abelha and Japinha from CPM22 and a number of public votes. Deckdisc One of the awards by GAS Sound was a CD for Deckdisc. .. .. The boys from Salvador opportunity to record 14 new tracks that make album “Nem Sempre T�o Normal”, the first commercial release of the band. Making raw rock..n..roll but with a lot of versatility, melody and beat, Vivendo do �cio won immediate appreciation of rock..n..roll veterans... .. Rafael Ramos, who worked with Pitty, Cachorro Grande, Ultraje a Rigor and others, produced “Nem Sempre T�o Normal” and gives the verdict: “Generally the result of a festival like this is strange. The winning bands don't have what it takes… In this case we were surprised with a band that takes their business seriously and knows what they are doing. They are very young, full of desire to grow as a band and learn. They have British rock influences and make a unique sound.” GAS Sound took the band to a national level, with a greater audience base, and gave the band great media exposure. Since then, Vivendo do �cio was play in big events and festivals, like Boom Bahia 2008 - BA, Festival de Ver�o de Salvador 2009 - BA, Abril Pro Rock 2009 - PE, Oi Noites Cariocas 2009 Quest..s show) - RJ, Concha Ac�stica de Salvador 2009 (opening Na��o Zumbi..s show), Gas Street Festival 2009 (SP), Goi�nia Noise 2009 (GO), Palco do Rock 2010 (BA) e Grito Rock Bras�lia 2010 (DF), Concha Ac�stica de Salvador 2010 (opening CPM 22..s show), SESC BAURU 2010 (SP), Virada Cultural Paulista – SP, and frequently in pubs and big venues in S�o Paulo and upstate. The band received awards for Best Show of the Year in the contest Bahia de Todos os Rocks in 2008 and Best Local Artist in 2009 by the newspaper A Tarde from Salvador – BA. and was indicated in the list of the Best National Disco by the website O Globo, Best National Album by IG M�sica and Revelation by Vagalume in 2009. Recently the band marked their national first run by being one of the attractions of the Video Music Brazil from MTV in 2009, where they also took the prize of Aposta MTV (Bet MTV). On television they participated in like TV Cultura, MTV, PlayTV, REDE TV! and Rede Globo (Altas Horas)... .. The stories the boys tell in their lyrics (mostly written by Jaj� Cardoso) – like, mean girls, wrongfully matched lovers, and intoxicated rock..n..roll parties are already gaining public attention. “Our lyrics reflect our daily lives. Uma nova etapa de aprendizado veio com a inscri��o da banda no reality show roqueiro GAS Sound – criado pelo Guaran� Antarctica, em parceria com as ag�ncias B/Ferraz e DM9DDB e transmitido pela Rede TV! J� de baterista novo – Dieguito Reis, que substituiu Mamede –, o Vivendo do �cio mostrou um som coeso e de respeito durante todas as eliminat�rias do concurso, at� chegar � final e ganhar o trof�u de banda campe�, obtendo �timas avalia��es dos jurados (entre eles, Supla e George Israel, do Kid Abelha) e uma consistente massa de votos do p�blico. .. .. Gas Sound, reality show musical criado pelo Guaran� Antarctica, em parceria com as ag�ncias B/Ferraz e DM9DDB, e exibido pela RedeTV aos domingos. Um dos pr�mios concedidos pelo GAS Sound foi a grava��o de um CD pela Deckdisc, tarefa que a banda fez quest�o de n�o encarar burocraticamente. Os rapazes de Salvador agarraram a oportunidade com as unhas e suaram a camisa para gravar as 14 faixas de autoria pr�pria que comp�em o �lbum “Nem Sempre T�o Normal”, primeiro lan�amento comercial do grupo. Nesse caso, nos surpreendemos com uma banda que leva a s�rio o que faz. S�o bem jovens, cheios de vontade de aprender e de crescer e n�o est�o copiando ningu�m. O GAS Sound projetou a banda nacionalmente e fez com que crescesse como bola de neve o volume de acessos �s suas p�ginas na internet (veja n�meros a seguir). A partir da (boa) exposi��o que o programa promoveu, o Vivendo de �cio foi convidado a tocar em eventos de peso como Festival de Ver�o 2009 (BA), Abril Pro Rock 2009 (PE) e Oi Noites Cariocas 2009 (RJ). Isso depois de ter papado os pr�mios de melhor show do ano no Bahia de Todos os Rocks 2008 e de melhor artista local pelo jornal A Tarde, de Salvador. .. .. PERFORMANCE AT BRAZILIAN DAY LONDON 2010

On the second semester of 2010 it gained international recognition after getting an invitation to be one of the main attractions of the biggest Brazilian music festival in Europe, the Brazilian Day London, representing Brazilian Rock for over 10 thousand people. They also played in one of the most traditional pubs of Camden Town, The Dublin Castle as well as in the Netherlands, at the Den Haag "Festival International De La Musique". The 21 days tour around Europe even left some spare time to record two video clips and a documentary. Being "Meu Precioso" the first of these clips released in October 2010, recorded and edited by photographer and director Rafael Kent.

À moda do Radiohead (que possibilitou o download de “In Rainbows” gratuitamente), o Vivendo do Ócio liberou “Teorias de Amor Moderno” para quem quisesse baixar. E a fama da banda correu como rastilho de pólvora a partir da Bahia para outros estados. “Crescemos juntos e o som amadureceu”, avalia Luca Bori. “Somos amigos de infância, conheço o Jajá desde os 10 anos de idade”.
