William Wolff has been writing music for 20 years. He is a Brazilian guitarist who was born in 1975 and began his career in Parana. He studied music at the age of thirteen when he won his first guitar. Two years later, after saving money, he purchased his first electric guitar. His studies also included music composition, programming and systems analyst. He's now working on the development of computer 3D graphics and has his own software development company called WDW Technology & Entertainment. By day his job is as a Senior Systems Analyst in the software development industry. At night he works on his own music creations. He still plays in several bands. His collection of music and trying to merge all into a single unit has been quite an undertaking. His progression has been successful which incremental releases of several EP's. It also gave birth to his website. William Wolff's music is known for its diverse influences and different styles of music. He writes style is instrumental/electronic rock– from heavy metal to the blues and you can experience these styles through songs like "Lua Nova" which has rock and progressions of Viola and Guitar with a Maracatu rhythm and beat. Songs like "Billy West" which brings blues influences into the song and a very creative arrangement. Then there's "Manga Rosa" which has a funky guitar groove to it with a duet for Viola and Guitar over a Samba beat. William Wolff rights as he imagines the song to sound. He is a composer of music, able to decipher the instrument needed to create a specific sound. He is an international innovate electronic rock composer who knows his audience. His creations are dynamic and exhilarating to listen to. All this was developed and produced in his small home studio, including mixing, mastering, everything. "Waves of Influence" is the first EP from a series of four EP's to be released throughout 2010 and now in 2011. According to William, splitting the releases of these compositions allows the fans to enjoy and digest the work as it's being developed instead of waiting for the full body of work to be released at the same time. The single "Billy West" is the highlighted single from this EP. It is very versatile and can be relatable in old west environments or a mystery environment or haunted houses, etc.. Once you listen to the song, you truly feel what the composer wants you to feel - it has a cool rhythm and the techniques used creates an isolated yet surrounded at the same time. Very well written and arranged. This song is also a great indication as to other songs on his EP's. They all capture your attention with striking introductions and keeps you there as if you are drawn being possessed. Waves of Influence is the first official album done by this Brazilian guitarist, and every second of this album was done with great care trying to expose all of their creative potential, with entirely unreleased songs and several musical genres.
The main keynote for this album is the diversity, where we can find different styles of music, passing through the heavy metal mixed with guitar work and Viola redneck (Music Sunrise), Rock and progressions for Viola and Guitar with maracatu beats ( Lua Nova ), as well as arrangements of Rock and Blues ( Billy West) and arrangements of funk guitar with a duet for viola and guitar over a samba beat (Manga Rosa).
Waves of influence is the first album (EP) in a series of four EP's to be launched throughout 2010 and 2011, allowing a conceptual division range of the musical variations present in their compositions and allow all the work is published along of its development.
The entire production of this album was performed by himself independently, since the recording, mixing and mastering as well as the composition and played all the string instruments used in the songs of the album, in his small home studio.
